Happiness is a Journey, Not a Destination
Happiness is a journey, not a destination- Buddha
Dreading Monday, looking forward to Friday, counting down the minutes until 5 o'clock, counting the weeks until summer...as a society, we've become quite accustomed to wishing our lives away.
Is it a way to avoid the hard stuff? Maybe.
But what happens in the meantime, is we miss out on some really great stuff!
As you kick off this week, I want you to embrace the journey. Pay attention to the small stuff----a smile shared between strangers, a random act of kindness, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, the sounds of children giggling...
Each day take time to slow down and enjoy your surroundings. Put your phone down and play with your kids or talk with your spouse, stop worrying, the laundry can wait, the dishes will still be there later.
Take time to enjoy life. Don't count the seconds with a focus on the destination, enjoy the journey.
Deal?
I hope your week is positive and productive, fit and fulfilled.
Your friend and coach,
