Sundays, a day to rest and rejuvenate

Ah, Sunday. I love the lazy feeling that Sundays bring. Its a bit of an overlap day for me. I consider it the end of one week and the beginning of the next. A day to stop and be thankful for what the last week brought, reflect on all that is good, and prepare for the upcoming week.

 Today, and every Sunday I take a rest day from my workout. That means my morning is freed up to write out my meal plan and prep for the upcoming week. I like to do this in the morning so that my afternoons are free to spend with my little family.

 I have been following the 21 day fix meal plan for months now. I love those little containers and the principle behind the entire plan. It has really been a game changer where my nutrition is concerned....but lately, I have to admit, I've gotten a little lax. I have been eye balling my containers, not tracking my food, and as a result, I'm not seeing the definition in my body or the energy that clean eating gives me! So today when I sat down to write out my plan I sat with my fix guide book and this week when I make my meals I'll be pulling out my containers to make sure I'm measuring. I'm taking advantage of the local, fresh produce I've been able to get at my local farm stand so you'll see a lot of tomatoes in my meal plan this week.

meal planning, 21 day fix, beachbody, body after baby, t25 Meal planning can be overwhelming so here's my advice...allow yourself some flexibility. If you find that you aren't able to have the meal you planned, substitute accordingly, meaning, if you were planning on grilled chicken, arugula, and apples with lemon and EVOO, substitute for another protein (red container), vegetable (green container) and fruit (purple container), that way you stay on track with your food groups and portions...make sense?

 As I go through my day I check off which containers (21 day fix) I use so that even if I don't follow my meal plan to a T, I know I'm on track with my nutrition.
