What is clean eating?

What is clean eating anyway?

Your body is a machine. Like any machine, when you maintain it well, it runs well.  Our cars need to be maintained, our phones charged, and even those can be replaced.  But our body? That is one machine that cannot be replaced so shouldn't you fuel it well?

The answer is clean eating. It's not a fad diet, it's not a magic pill.  It actually just makes sense.

Clean eating means eating your food in its natural state, or as close to it as possible.  It means getting away from that over processed, over marketed crap that the shelves are filled with.  It means shopping the perimeter of the grocery store.  It means buying local.  It means home cooked meals...get it?

Ok, I know there are certain things we have to buy packaged or pre-made...but then read your labels. Is there a laundry list of items on there you can't pronounce? Then it's not clean.  Ideally, you want an item with 2 ingredients but I try to stick to less than 5.

Clean eating also means avoiding foods that have been processed or refined: white flour, sugar, bread, and pasta.  There are plenty of other forms of these foods available. Remember, you're fueling your machine.

Here's my promise...When you start eating clean, you'll feel the difference. Your body won't have to work as hard to break down what you're feeding it.
